Reusable formwork for lattice floor slabs
SYSTEM 2000 COFFERS Formers is a re-usable horizontal formwork solution designed for the construction of two-way ribbed slabs (coffered slabs) with re-usable trough formers and also one-way ribbed slab solutions. Its approach allows well-defined ribs to be formed, maintains an orderly grid layout and resolves the works with a clear, repeatable and efficient system.
Its primary value lies in helping to save concrete, reduce immobilised material and accelerate work cycles. Most of the equipment can be recovered approximately 3 days after concreting, allowing trough formers and boards to be reused in subsequent phases and improving the overall performance of the project.
Furthermore, it is a system designed to work with speed, precision and durability. The injection-moulded polypropylene trough former is designed to prevent deformation, facilitate stripping and improve the final concrete finish, while compatibility with System 2000 elements simplifies assembly and optimises equipment investment.
Key benefits of SYSTEM 2000 COFFERS
Real concrete savings: the system is designed for the construction of waffle slabs with re-usable trough formers, reducing the volume of concrete in the lightened areas without compromising structural performance.
Fast material recovery: trough formers, boards, ledgers and part of the secondary beams can be recovered under normal conditions within 3 days, improving equipment rotation and reducing the need for large stockpiles.
No unnecessary re-propping: does not require prop movement until full stripping, simplifying operations, reducing manoeuvres and helping to maintain a more orderly and safer process.
Fast and straightforward assembly: operates on a very clear assembly logic based on ledgers and secondary beams, followed by placement of trough formers and board, facilitating installation and reducing preparation times.
Only two base elements in the primary structure: this operational simplicity reduces errors, facilitates crew training and improves daily productivity.
More resistant and durable trough formers: manufactured in injection-moulded polypropylene and internally reinforced to limit deformation, prevent cracking and maintain the slab geometry under intensive use.
More agile stripping: the trough former design promotes rapid and clean removal, particularly valuable when the project needs to maintain high execution rates.
Better concrete finish: the system design helps to prevent concrete leakage and achieve a more uniform finish with better-aligned ribs.
High rib versatility: allows ribs of 12, 16, 17 and 21 cm to be resolved, providing flexibility to adapt to different project requirements without changing the system concept.
Compatible with solid and lightened areas: boards, trough formers and half trough formers can be combined to resolve pile caps, column heads and areas requiring more concrete mass.
Greater equipment utilisation: most elements are common with SYSTEM 2000, improving the return on the plant inventory and simplifying site logistics.
Structural advantage in waffle slabs: this type of solution allows greater spans between columns, accommodates higher imposed loads and clearly differentiates between lightened and solid areas.
Main components and accessories
Ledgers 5.00 m and 2.50 m
Components that level the secondary beams and organise the overall assembly. Specific versions exist for each rib width, helping to maintain the correct system modulation.
Secondary beams 4 m, 3 m and 2 m
The load-bearing elements that support the boards and bear the concrete load during the initial phase. They also maintain assembly stability until material recovery.
Re-usable trough former
The primary caisson of the system, manufactured in injection-moulded polypropylene and available in different depths. Its function is to lighten the slab, save concrete and precisely define the rib geometry.
Applications of SYSTEM 2000 COFFERS
SYSTEM 2000 COFFERS is primarily used for:
- Two-way ribbed slabs (coffered slabs).
- One-way ribbed slabs.
- Horizontal concrete structures with lightened and solid areas.
- Building projects requiring reduced concrete consumption.
- Projects with different rib modulations, from 12 to 21 cm.
- Phased or multi-storey construction where early material recovery improves productivity and system cost-effectiveness.
